Polar Night. Mouth blown glass. Contemporary glass art sculpture. Helsinki Finland 2014.

Exhibited in Design Forum Showroom Helsinki on January 2014, Gallery G12 Helsinki 2016, Frankfurt Tendence Fair 2016.

The polar night occurs when night lasts more than 24 hours. This happens only inside the polar circles. The sun stays under the horizon. But there is never completely dark, because snow reflects the light that remains. When there is only a small amount of light, it becomes sacred. The light of the arctic Polar night is what I wanted to capture in my sculpture. The surface of the snow, the layers of the calm and silent winter landscape.
